Really happy when plans come together. Its been many months since we first started to scope out the Colorado Rail game. Today was the first meeting with the project manager who is helping guide the project. What struck me was how much research he did to understand the game. From comparing the game to others, to figuring out what the color scheme is, to asking who the target audience is to understanding the flow of the game and the attractions....
When I think about online study I often think of Coursera, However, I now thint its a bit too passive. I need to be using what I learn. So I looked at my Coursera courses and didn’t see anything except a TCPIP course. I wanted to do something a bit different tonight so I logged back into my Boot.Dev course and click start over on Python. For right now I want interactive and practical....
In studding for the CCNA, I am using a host of resources. Simulator software, real Cisco hardware, textbooks and online exams. I am trying to put a full court press in learning the materials. I am glad I finished my IP Subnetting online course but now when I am turning to the textbooks, I am finding that I have so many other resources. One such resource is the PTP practice exam, as I just took about 10 questions and only got one correct....
It was really nice to see a old course I made. It had a 4.2 star rating and had over 3000 students signed up. I had kinda forgotten about it. As I work on the video game, I am looking forward to having users and getting it online for people to learn about history, politics and transportation. I also look forward for people supporting the work and giving feedback. I hope the game will be much more interactive than the online course in making updates....
As I learn more about networking, I really need to apply it. I have some hardware to use to learn how to do it but I also have some software that can emulate networks. Cant wait to also jump back into my books for the CCNA from this side course on subnetting that I figured would be a great resource to learn some of the hardest things in networking. It should give me a great foundation to understand networks....
