I finally have enough old equipment to start a homelab. Some of it includes Old WAPs Network switches Cloudcore router Firewall Fiber and SFPs Old micro desktops Possible old working server What I have for plans is to create this homelab and then somehow set up a way to remotely log into it. But I really have no idea how to do this right now. Also I don’t know where it should be placed… and where a good spot would be for it to live....
I finally learned how to write out a particular line in history. I can never remember the IP address o log into a VPS via SSH. So I have to rely on typing history and then finding where I had last typed it and then copy and pasting the input into the new bash line. This all is a pain. So I finally Googled something like search bash history and select input and found a forum post where the person said CMD + R....
I really like slow moving streams. I was walking next to Gore Creek and watched people on inter tubes float down the river. It was so hot and I wish I could sit in a inter tube. But also I like the way they sound. Quiet stream noises make me want to go to sleep. So one project I really want to do as I have been thinking about it for so long is taking my camera and lav audio mics up on the mountain in quiet areas and recording stream and wind sounds....
I watched a YouTube about how to plat trees for growing a forest. there were two methods. The regular approach is to just plant a some trees without much thought. The second thought is to use a method called the Miyawaki method. This is to first improve the soil if needed. Then plant native trees and plants and as many different ones as possibly, and as closely together so there is more competition between the young trees....
I have really enjoyed playing one video game on the steam deck… and its Hogwarts Legacy. Not only is it fun to run around the world of Harry Potter, and be filled with nostalgia, but also it reminds me of Scotland and Edinburgh. When I lived there it was so cold at night and dark… but there were bits of it being brilliant. Some things I miss are pubs, running around the city and how cozy things were....
